Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

The weeks cannot go by fast enough until we arrive at the new school year.  I am filled with excitement and hope for what the future holds for our Faith Lutheran family.  We will begin instruction on August 5th.  We will utilize the guidelines from the State of Georgia Departments of Public Health and Education (https://www.georgiainsights.com/recovery.html).  These guidelines will be implemented as a foundational piece for keeping our kids safe throughout the year and the mitigation strategies found in this document will be implemented if the situation deems it necessary.  None of us know what the future holds, but we are prepared for whatever happens.

First and foremost, you already know that I will do everything in my power to keep our students, families, and staff safe.  The critical piece in all of this for me is that we must place our faith in God’s plan while continuing to provide a loving environment where spiritual and academic growth occurs. At this moment in time, we know more than we did when the virus came to America.  We have better data to make informed decisions. We must press on, move forward, have faith, and we must love one another while following these guidelines to keep each other safe.  Now, we may not be able to have the Spaghetti Kick Off Dinner or other large gatherings, but I can guarantee you this:  we will continue to deliver the academic and spiritual excellence you have come to expect from Faith Lutheran. That hasn’t changed in over 60 years and this pandemic isn’t going to stop us now.

I will be in touch in the month of July with more information as it pertains to the beginning of the school year.

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.            Psalm 62:5–8

May God’s love and peace be with you always!

Mike
