Good Morning Faith Family,
It is that time of year again where we support our Faith Lutheran school scholarship fund through the State of Georgia. The Georgia Student Scholarship Organization, GaSSO, is a tuition tax credit program for private schools and their families. Essentially, this is free money from our state government for our school to provide scholarships. I know what you are thinking, “Mike, you are crazy, the government doesn’t give away free money!” Yes, I am crazy, but this information is 100% accurate. Please check out the following video:
When Julie and I first came to Faith Lutheran, we decided to participate in the GaSSO program. We started out small with $500 dollars for the first two years. We did what we could afford at the time to claim the donation on the following year’s tax bill. Yes, 100% of the money you donate comes back to you as a tax credit! You can be 100% certain of the following:
- You will be helping a current family within the walls of Faith Lutheran.
- You will be bringing the love and grace of God to a family from outside our community to Faith Lutheran.
- Your state tax dollars will remain in the local community at Faith Lutheran.
Our ministry of connecting people to Jesus becomes powerful and impactful when we start reaching out to the unchurched to spread God’s love and grace found through Jesus Christ. Let’s dream big. Let us make a concerted effort to make Faith Lutheran into something bigger and better than all of us can imagine. Your participation in the GaSSO program is a critical part of making that happen. Please join me in this endeavor by visiting the GaSSO website to make your pledge to Faith Lutheran for the 2021-22 school year:
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I would be more than happy to meet with you in the coming weeks. The application takes 3-5 minutes to fill out on the website and I would be more than happy to walk you through the process. There will be more information to follow in the coming weeks.
God’s Love and Peace Always,
