Why have you chosen to become a part of Faith Lutheran School? I did not know anything about Faith Lutheran before coming to work at the school. I arrived in November 2019. I have grown to love Faith Lutheran. I appreciate my coworkers and their respective strengths in their teaching and service. I appreciate that every class has a time devoted to getting into the scriptures and learning about Jesus. I love that every class has memory verses each week and that the school as a whole has a theme verse or verses to memorize for the year. I love that the teachers do devotions every morning and every week send out notecards signed by them to let students know that they’re being prayed for. My oldest daughter attends Faith Lutheran and this is where she has begun her schooling. She has grown here. I love that the class sizes are small. We’re connected and Faith is really like a family and home away from home.
What is your favorite thing about teaching? I have the pleasure of being able to get to know multiple students of multiple ages and grades. My favorite things about teaching the students are when they sing songs they learn from class outside of Spanish class, when they roll their r’s to pronounce words correctly (some can do it naturally and not realize it!), when they start realizing that they understand more Spanish than they let on and when they ask me if we can play Spanish games. These show me that they’re enjoying the class. If they’re enjoying my class then that makes me happy.
