Why have you chosen to become a part of Faith Lutheran School? I chose to become a staff member of FLS after attending a ceremony at Concordia University when my father received the Spiritus Christi Award for his dedication to Lutheran teaching for 59 years. I wanted to return to “my roots” in the setting I had been raised and taught in prior to moving to GA. Having two parents as Lutheran educators, I spent a lot of time at school. So, Lutheran education had always been a huge part of my life. I guess I missed it when teaching at Mt. Paran Christian School. Faith had no positions available when I moved to GA, so I applied for a position outside of Faith.

What is your favorite thing about teaching fifth grade? My favorite thing about teaching 5th grade is the age of my students. They are still quite naive and eager to learn. They are very impressionable as they try to figure out who they are … an elementary or a middle school student and where they fit in this toxic world.
