Kurtz, Amy
Principal
I am here to listen, help you learn, and guide you in God's love. I love getting to serve students, staff, families, and our community as principal. It is an enormous blessing to be able to form relationships with so many different groups of people and grow alongside them.
God's love permeates everything we get to do. I think it is so important to pray with students, staff, and families to ask for God's guidance.
I love learning! I have been shaped by so many wonderful teachers and leaders throughout my life. I was blessed to have attended a Lutheran elementary school K-8th grade and earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Masters degree in Administration from Concordia University-Nebraska. Throughout my education experiences the educators, pastors, and administrators who took the time to truly show an interest in my life, educationally and emotionally, have had the greatest impact on me. Leaders and teachers who listen and pray for you are incredibly powerful and for that I am extremely thankful.

Glass, Susie
Receptionist and Admissions Director
I don't teach in the classroom, but I love getting to know all the kids and their families! From the little ones who are just learning how to properly greet someone to the middle schoolers that I can have actual conversations with - they all bring me joy! I love showing my faith through my actions - you'll find me singing or humming at my desk and I love showing a positive attitude to my little friends if they are having a bad day. I'm a former Systems Analyst/Project Manager and I left that career so I could be home with my children and not have to worry about being on call (that was back in the dark days when you couldn't dial in from home!) That career taught me how to multitask, to be flexible and to be (somewhat) organized, all of which are required in my current position.

Jones, Glenn
Business Manager
My faith impacts everything in my life. I view my role as Business Manager as service to our Lord more than I view it as a job.
My role as a Supply Officer for a Marine helicopter squadron and my management of a production center for computer output have exposed me to an understanding of the many moving parts that make an organization work. Owning my own business (The UPS Store) exposed me to the "joy" of managing resources and making payroll.

Schleuger, Stefani
Administrative Assistant
I love being able to help others, and this year I get to do that in many ways. One of those ways is as an administrative assistant which means I get to help the principal in the day-to-day operations of the school. This gives me a lot of joy being able to help keep things running smoothly. I also get to know many of the families and the staff here at Faith through this role.
I also have the pleasure of teaching middle school math and substituting around the school when needed. Being with the students brings me a lot of joy and it is what I love most about working here. I have taught for 8 years and it is a passion of mine. Seeing how our students learn and grow in their faith is such a rewarding and enriching experience.

Rev. Wagener, Kenneth
Interim Pastor and Principal
I have been honored and privileged to serve as a pastor for over 35 years. One of the great joys I've experienced is to see children respond to God's love and promises in Jesus. I have learned also to focus on Bible stories, especially from the Gospels. I believe children--in particular--absorb and appreciate stories that touch our minds and hearts. What a blessing to read, understand, discuss, take to heart and put into practice the Word of God! In every way! I've aspired to live by my Personal Mission Statement for over three decades: "Equip. Enrich. Encourage." My goal in each sermon, teaching opportunity, or casual encounter is to equip our adults and children with the truth of God's Word, to enrich their knowledge of and appreciation for His grace-filled story in Jesus, and to encourage everyone to live boldly and faithful to the praise and honor of His name. I've been blessed by a wonderful Seminary and Graduate School experience (Concordia, St. Louis; University of Iowa; Marquette University). I treasure each different opportunity for opening my eyes to the beauty and strength of Scripture, the richness of the Church's mission and ministry, and the abundant gifts of God for all facets of human life. I have benefitted greatly from Continuing Education contexts, including Seven Habits and other Leadership programs. I look back and give thanks and praise to the living God for all these blessings.

Irvin, Susan
Librarian
Susan Irvin has been serving as the Faith Lutheran School Librarian since October 2023. Her four children all attended our school, so she has a long-standing history with the excellent education offered at FLS!
She started working in the Cobb County Public Library System in 2001, and received her Master of Library Science degree from the University of Alabama in 2007. Her duties at the county library included being the Children's and Youth Services librarian for 12 years, then Adult Services librarian for 5 years, and Branch Manager at two locations before she retired in 2021.
She absolutely LOVES sharing wonderful stories and reading to children, demonstrating to them how they much they can discover about the world in books. She enjoys watching them find just the right book and learn new things.
Mrs. Irvin feels blessed to teach your children and hopes to help instill in them an appreciation for the valuable resource a library is, the assurance that our Lord is the author of all knowledge, and the encouragement that (as one of the signs in our library states):
"READING will expand your mind, shape your dreams, take you on an adventure, and inspire you to think BIG!"

Henning, Ashley
Early Childhood Director
I love watching the toddlers take in all that they are learning. Everything is new to them, and it’s fun to see.
Our youngest learners may not fully understand the significance of Christian values, however, we do not need to wait until they fully understand .As teachers we are setting the stage for the child’s future and helping them to develop those faith-based habits to prepare them for when they reach an age where they can begin to reflect on and understand the different aspects of faith.

Esposito, Aden
3rd and 4th Grade teacher
I am a passionate third and fourth grade teacher with experience teaching grades K-4. I find joy in working with students and helping them grow into their full potential, both academically and personally. One of the greatest joys of teaching at Faith is sharing Jesus’ love with my students. My goal is to prepare students to become critical thinkers who are ready to navigate the world ahead of them with confidence and curiosity. I value building strong relationships with my students, taking the time to truly know them, and celebrating their growth throughout the school year.

O'Donnell, Heather
ECE 2B Teacher
After having children of my own I began to have a deep desire to get involved in the teaching (and learning) process to simply help my own kids thrive. There are many ways to guide children and I am passionate about how to best find the way to help guide each child. Everyone is a unique creation and responds differently-- it's not a one size fits all. What I love about the Two's is that you really start to discover the personality of each child and it is then that you can help find a way that they thrive and respond best. It is not always easy, but when you finally figure it out... (they grow and change, and then the process starts all over again!) it is so satisfying to know that you have helped them learn or understand themselves. Guiding them on the path God has planned for these children is so special, and is deeply humbling to know that I am a part of their plan, no matter how small my part in their lives may seem.

After a rough patch in life, I found the light at the end of the tunnel when I found Faith Lutheran School. I was welcomed with open arms and have developed amazing relationships with the staff, students, and parents. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher following my grandmother’s footsteps, and here at Faith Lutheran, I’m happy to have this opportunity. I hope to not only grow my faith but also to help teach children about God and help them develop a strong foundation for their own faith as they grow.

I love that three-year-olds are excited to come to school. I get to witness so many "firsts", they are constantly exploring and discovering new skills. We get to be silly together and every day I am surrounded by the joyful sounds of love and laughter and I get to share my love for Jesus every day.

Davis-Peek, Megan
ECE-3C and Art Teacher
I currently teach multiple age groups. I enjoy teaching the 2's and 3's because for a lot of them, I am the first teacher that they will have. When you teach this age group, you are setting the foundation for their school experience. They are learning so much at this age and their brains are like little sponges. Watching their eyes light up when they see or do something new and exciting is one of the sweetest things you will ever see. I enjoy teaching elementary and middle school Art because I get to use my passion for education purposes. I have always loved to draw and create, and getting to teach that to others is such a great experience for me.Teaching both age groups is very rewarding.
My Christian faith impacts my classroom in many ways. Sharing the love of Jesus with a young child is so special. Being one of the first people in their little lives to teach them about God's love is a big deal. We pray before meals, talk about Jesus during Jesus Time, sing our favorite chapel songs, and talk about how God wants us to love everyone and be kind.
I graduated college with a Bachelor's Degree. I did not originally go to school for Education. I had other plans, but somehow always ended up working with children. I came to Faith in 2011 to enroll my own child and ended up applying for an Assistant position at that time. That was when my love for this job really started. I was offered a lead position the following year, and every year since then has been a wonderful learning experience. I think that one of the most rewarding things about being a teacher is not only getting to expand young minds, but to also constantly be learning from each set of children that you have. I have taken online training classes as well in order to make sure I am giving the best care possible to my students.

Ditzler, Lisa
ECE-4A and Spanish
I have the privilege of teaching many grade levels. I teach PreK and I also teach Spanish to K-8th grades. I love watching the kids learn new things, seeing light bulb moments, and watching them grow.
In the PreK classroom we learn about Jesus during our Bible lesson time. The children have opportunities to pray for others and before each snack and lunch time. In the Spanish classes, we take a look at other cultures and how they worship which in turn causes our students to have a greater appreciation for their relationship with God.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development and I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. A lot of the coursework in my studies helped prepare me for teaching the academic subjects in the classroom setting. I have learned different behavioral management strategies by being in the classroom setting and observing what each child's individual needs are. The small class sizes we provide at Faith help me as a teacher to be able to provide for my students' needs directly.

I have my degree in Business Management and am currently working on my Early Childhood degree.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1.9

Vazquez, Emily
ECE-4B Teacher
For my first two years at Faith, I was an assistant in ECE3 and ECE4,since then I have been a lead in ECE4. I love these age groups! So busy, but so fun!
Every child is an eternal soul. It's my job to help shepherd them in the ways of Jesus, while remembering that I am also a sinner who needs a Savior. They are always watching and listening; I hope they see a Jesus follower.
I graduated college with a degree in English, thinking I wanted to be an editor. Growing up with parents who were teachers, and later a sister who became a teacher, I said I would never be one! So much hard work even outside of the 8-3 school day! So God laughed, allowed me several years of working with adults, and now has me in a much-more-fun job that I LOVE.

Gaines, Jessica
1st Grade Teacher
I love watching the "ah-ha" moments in first grade. There is so much growth that happens in first grade, and I enjoy being able to create personal relationships and a classroom family that I get to teach everyday.
I grew up as a child who was active in my Christian faith. The students are very interested in learning more about God and I love being able to teach them what I grew up learning to help foster and grow their relationship with God.
As a preschool teacher for six years, I am very passionate about the social and emotional development of children. In first grade, students get to learn about their emotions and express them in healthy ways. It is important for students to be able to identify their emotions and behaviors and build relationships with their peers.

Koch, Jill
2nd Grade Teacher
I enjoy teaching second grade and helping children grow in social-emotional learning.
Jesus taught us to love and serve and handle things peacefully. In our classroom we work to make our actions and words reflect these lessons learned from Jesus.
My prior educational learning has equipped me to be able to think on my feet and put into practice strategies learned.

Wareham, Jon
Middle School Teacher
Middle School students are eager to ‘know’ eager to learn. Their unique view of life needs to be listened to and addressed with sound Christ-centered teaching.
Jesus is the center of my classroom. His love, His words, and His Spirit are shared in all the concepts taught. Jesus “is The Word made flesh dwelling with us”. Language arts is using ‘words’ to communicate. We learn, practice, and communicate using human words to communicate the love of God given in “The Word made flesh”…Jesus.
Concordia University, Chicago and the University of South Florida, Tampa equipped me a sound foundation of educational practices.

Shea, Jessica
Athletic Director & P.E., Music, and Technology Teacher
I love to watch my students grow and develop at every stage.
During Physical Education, I enjoy talking with the students about how God has created their bodies, and each are given special gifts or talent. During Technology class, I provide discussion for the students about what is means to be in a Digital Community and as Christians, how our actions our reflected in the community.
I started teaching in 2010. Over this time I have held a variety of roles and teaching potions. This is the second school that I have taught at and I believe that God is allowing me to take all the I have learned and truly apply it here at Faith.
